Children Seldom Misquote You Round 2 and a Gift For You

children seldom misquote you card header

I can’t believe that it’s the end of the weekend again… I swear that someone out there is eating time!!  Well at least that means it’s Handmade Monday time again!  I always love having a look around at what everyone is up to and this week I have a gift for you!

Following on from last weeks Mothers Day Card, a couple of you said you wanted to use the same quote so I have created a Digi Stamp for you.  I know how time pressured us crafters are so I thought ‘every little helps’ right?! Feel free to take it and use it for your own personal projects.  I really do hope that you like it?

To download click on the image below which will take you to the full sized image.  Then simply right click and select ‘Save Picture As’  I shall leave it here until next Friday when I will take it down again.

It will work well on it’s own as is…simply print as is straight onto a blank card(i recomend printing it on your printers’ high quality’ setting)  or ‘dressed up’ to make it your own! I loved the way it turned out so couldn’t wait to have a play with it myself!

I think I shall be posting this one to my mum instead now to be honest!  Much more her style!  The inspiration for the design came from this weeks CASE Study Challenge.  The girls over there are just so massivly talented and I have wanted to join in for a while now so here goes!

Anyway, that’s it for another Sunday!  Have a great week  whatever you have planned!

Mothers Day Card – Children Seldom Misquote you

handmade mothers day card teaser

Well hello there and happy Sunday/Monday/whatever day you happen to be reading this post day!

Today, I am feeling very pleased with myself as, even though, mothers day isn’t until March 18th here in the UK, I have finished my mum’s card already!! How organised am I?! All I have to do now is hope that she doesn’t read this post between now and then or I might have to come up with another idea, and that would be a shame as the quote I have chosen is just perfect!

My younger sister has this amazing memory when it comes to things that you have either said or done and shouldn’t have!  In fact this seems to be a bit of a family trait…if you happen fall head first into a puddle  with your knickers on full display to the world then, not only will my mum and sister laugh at you but, they are also guaranteed to bring it up at some gathering or another 10 years from now when you thought you were safe!   Unfortunately, I don’t have the same skill for remembering these things that they have … perhaps I should start carrying a notebook around with me so I have some kind of retaliation!

This week I am joining in with a few events that are happening around the web. Firstly, and as always, I am joining in with Handmade Monday which is hosted by the lovely Wendy over at 1st Unique Gifts.  On my travels around the interweb this week I came across ‘Make it Monday’ where paper crafters from all over the world can showcase what they have been up to this week so I will be joining in there for the very first time!  Lastly, and certainly  by no means least, ‘Sassy Cheryl’ who designed the gorgeous ‘angel’ you see on the card issued a challenge of ‘No Designer Paper’ this week so I  decided to take part in that.

Well that’s all for today, have a great week and please do drop by on Tuesday where I will be showcasing a new design!

Thanks for stopping by!

Handmade Birthday card – Eat More Cake!

Handmade birthday card - eat more cake

I have to tell you, I had soooooo much fun making this card!!  I always loved colouring in when I was little… I would spend so many hours carefully colouring ‘between the lines!  I did use to throw a bit of a strop though if I accidently coloured outside the lines or if my younger sister decided she wanted to ‘help’

I made this card for one of my very best friends who absolutely loves food!  No food is off limits as far as Anne-Marie is concerened , though she does have a particularly stong weakness for cake!

Eat more cake-Handmade birthday card

I thought this quote was very apt for her card!  Mind you,  I think she secretly believes that weekdays are also also ‘natures way of telling her to eat more cake’ and weekends too for that matter!

The image has been hand coloured using high quality artists pencils and the quote written using my latest favourite font crush!

I was going for more of a retro rather than cutesy look, I think I may hav just about pulled it off….what do you think?

I really hope she enjoys the card and that you do too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Valentines Day!

Hello there and Happy Valentines day!  I hope you have had a great day whether you ‘believe in it’ or  or are of the opinion that you shouldn’t just show someone how much you love them on one day of the year!

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) my Fiance is a chef so I am destined for a life of meals for one on Valentines day!  We don’t usually mark the day in any special way as I am lucky enough to be with a man who spoils me rotten ‘just because’ …I’m gushing aren’t I?! Sorry!

I was pleasantly suprised this morning though to wake up to a beautiful box of chocolates and a single red rose…how thoughtful is that!  It really was such a lovely way to start the day and I set of to work with a huge smile on my face!

there is no remedy for love but to love more

I also felt a little bit guilty as I hadn’t bought anything for him.  I had taken the time to make him a card though (thank god!) so hopefully I managed to return the smile!

Handmade Valentines Day Card

The Sentiment is hand stamped and the ‘Butterfly is  a punched heart.  Simple but effective I think…exactly the look I was going for!

Well that’s all for today!  Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget that you can order any of the cards you see on this blog or, indeed, a card that has been custom designed to your specifications by Clicking on the ‘Contact Us/Order link.

Have a great evening, whatever your plans!

Personalised 50th Birthday Card

Wow what a week it has been!  After I launched this blog last Sunday, I took the ‘I Love you more than Cake’ card in to work to show my colleagues and am pleased to say it received a fantastic reaction!  I will be a very happy lady if all my other designs receive the same response!

Speaking of other designs,  I wanted to show you a card Fiftieth Birthday card I  made for a lady I work with.  After seeing the ‘show’ card I had taken in she asked me if I would design one for her completely from scratch. Of course, I was more than happy to oblige!  She told me that the recipient liked his drink, keeping himself in shape and was a bit of a ladies man…

Now, I have to admit that this card nearly caused me to throw my printer out of the window!  It all started off well enough, I designed the card and printed off a sample on to draft card for her to approve before printing the final card and it looked great!  Once she gave the go ahead, I went to print it on to the ‘good’ card….and that is where the problems began!!  No matter what I did, it would not fit on to the the size of card I had cut and kept cutting words off!  Now, I should mention that I measure every piece of card exactly as well as using professional design software so the only thing I can think is that the design and the printer must have had a falling out via the printer cable “print me” “no!” “Print Me! “No!” uuuurgh!  45 minutes later, several pieces of card and a lot of jiggling about with the design I managed it though and the lady was thrilled with the finished result, so much so that she asked me for another one!!  “Are you sure you wouldn’t like another design?”  I squeaked ” but she didn’t and of course I hadn’t saved the adjustments… arrrgh!  Round two pretty much mirrored round one but I got there in the end and let’s just say lesson learnt!

Well that’s all for today but before I sign off, I would just like to say a huge thanks to all of you who took the time to leave such encouraging comments last week, they really were appreciated!  It’s also handmade Monday time again so I’m off to see what everyone else has been up to this week!

Oh, and I have lots of new designs to show you so please don’t forget to drop by later in the week!
